Beyonce's Obsessed is Number 1

This weekend I had a dilemma because I really, really wanted to see Obsessed starring Beyonce, but I can't stand crowded movie theaters. I have actually been waiting for this ever since I saw the trailer in December of 2008, so I almost went to the theater Saturday because I figured I would be the only person seeing it... I guess I was wrong because it was the number one film this weekend. It looks like I'm not the only one who thinks it has been way too long since we have had a Fatal Attraction/The Crush type movie... or maybe there was just nothing else good out. Hmmmm? Never mind!

Anyway if you are like me and enjoy movies like The Crush, Poison Ivy, or say...Single White Female, check out the trailer for Crush (2009).Not the Alicia Silverstone one -- a new one. Oh yeah and that link has a picture of Silverstone's body double's butt so it may not be safe for workish.

American Idol's Top 10 Results

Over thirty-six million votes were logged in to determine the American Idol contestant who would be eliminated at the end of the Thursday night results show. This group of Top 10 is on the tour, sure, but only nine will be on the show next week.

Ryan Seacrest opened the show by asking Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul about their shenanigans during the Wednesday performance round. He then reminded the audience about the judges’ save, the Get Out of Elimination Free card which will be used on one lucky contestant this season.

Before any results could be displayed, the Top 10 performed a Motown medley. The three girls in the contest did a Supremes tribute that was fairly cute, but the rest of the number was a lot of bad mishmash. The Ford music video was again incredibly boring - completely white set and an uninteresting song.

Ruben Studdard, the winner of season 2 (amid much controversy), then returned to the Idol stage to whip the crowd into a frenzy.Ruben always looks and sounds nice when he returns to the reality stage, and this performance was no exception. It’s smooth vocals and sweet love songs all the way with Studdard.

But then, Ryan Seacrest turned to the bleachers where the Idols waited. Adam Lambert was featured first - the audience went nuts at the mere mention of his name. Obviously, Lambert was safe for the evening - there’s some that speculate he’s been the top vote-getter in the competition, so far. Seacrest then announced that Matt Giraud was astonishingly in the bottom three for the week. He’s got great vocals and obvious judge love, but often the starting position on performance night can hurt Idol contestants. Kris Allen got psyched out a bit by Seacrest, but he’s still safely in the competition.

Lil Rounds and Michael Sarver were then asked to stand up together. Lil was able to stay on the bleachers, but Michael moved to join Matt off to the side of the stage. Just like that, and two of the bottom three were revealed.

Scott MacIntyre was guided to the center of the stage with Matt Giraud and Michael Sarver. MacIntyre was an early favorite; Giraud is a judges’ pet. It’s surprising to see either of these two in the bottom group. Randy Jackson believes Matt has been “consistently” performing well on the Idol stage. After a few suspense-building moments, Scott MacIntyre was sent back to safety - sigh of relief. Seacrest guided him into position; only two remained at center stage now.

Ryan Seacrest asked Simon Cowell about the possibility of a judges’ save. “Well, they’re there because the public doesn’t like them very much,” Cowell shot out his reply. “So what we will do is make a decision based on - whoever it is - their final performance.”

That performance would not be featured next, however. First, it was time for Stevie Wonder to perform a “Motown medley.” He still sounds the same, and I mean that in the most complimentary way possible. The medley might have gone on about three songs too long, though. Really, sometimes less is more.

The headliner of the evening, at any rate, was not Stevie Wonder but the results themselves - which Idol was to be sent packing, off to join the realm of TV re-caps and early-morning talk shows for the next few days?

Matt Giraud looked utterly upset while he stood on stage next to Michael Sarver, who by contrast was amazingly relaxed. It was Michael who failed to score enough votes, but he continued to carry a smile. Charisma. When the music started, Sarver again showed off his great vocals - this guy can really, really sing. As Paula Abdul danced, Kara DioGuardi, Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell made a show of discussing Michael’s fate on the show. Sarver’s performance on results night was indeed better than the number he offered up the evening before.

But alas, it was not meant to be. Seacrest asked Simon Cowell the verdict. “We haven’t decided,” the judge admitted, and the panel continue to mumble amongst themselves. “I’m gonna make a decision,” Simon spread his arms out wide. “Michael, you’re going home.”

Denise Richards hot news

Despite having one of the lowest judges' scores EVER, Steve Wozniak was spared right off the bat in the "Dancing with the Stars" elimination show, so let us now rejoice that he will worm another day! A Barbie Ballroom dance-off then ensued between Holly Madison and Denise Richards, who both improved upon their previous performances, but ultimately it wasn't enough to save Denise from the fate of her sad sack Samba. Here are some farewell thoughts for Ms. Richards.

Did you have fun? I can't tell. But I'm guessing not so much. I know it must be hard. You're a single mom who could use a career boost. You probably know that people aren't really rooting for you. There was the messy divorce, the sleeping with your best friend's husband, the reality show. It's written all over your face every time you speak that you hope people will like you, but don't really believe that they will. Combine that with pressure from your "people" to make it far in this competition so that they can cash their checks, and I get it, it must feel like the weight of the world on your shoulders when you dance.

Brainy Beauty Pageants

Who is the hottest woman working in the Russian nuclear industry? According to voters, it’s 25-year-old Yekaterina Bulgakova, who recently won first place in the 2009 Miss Atom beauty contest.

The online contest, now in its sixth year, is open only to women employed by Russian nuclear energy organizations. More than 300 entrants vied for the 2009 title, with the winner selected by the highest number of votes from the public.

The reason for the contest? Russia’s nuclear industry is trying to change its image. The contest hopes to show that the nuclear industry is not a menacing ogre, but rather an ordinary trade made up of ordinary people who do not have multiple heads and glowing skin. The bevy of beautiful women supposedly helps to put a welcoming, friendly face on the industry. Hmm. Based on the photos, it seems they are displaying more than just a face

Brits Vote Angelina Jolie "Yummy Mummy"

In a poll done to celebrate Britain's National Mother's Day, which is this Sunday, Angelina Jolie was voted the world's hottest mom in its annual "Yummy Mummy" survey.

Angie got the top spot with 29 percent of the vote, but of course she was not the only mother to be recognized for being "yummy." Halle Berry and Reese Witherspoon were somehow deemed equally yummy and tied for second. Kate Winslet got third, and Jennifer Garner, Katie Holmes, Gwyneth Paltrow and Cate Blanchett rounded out the rest.

I wonder if Mother's Day would even matter if they couldn't work in sex somehow. What about the other holidays though, are they all filled with weird sexual surveys too? Christmas Carols That Make You Wanna Do it? World's Hottest Arbor Day Activists?

Yes, leave it to the British to honor something by saying they want to shag it.

Super star Obama's a Hit on Leno

Heeeere's Barack! President Obama's Thursday summit with Jay Leno gave the Tonight Show its biggest overnight ratings since Leno paid tribute to the late Johnny Carson in January 2005, NBC said.

Now That's Economic Stimulus: Obama's appearance—the first late-night gig for a sitting president—likewise boosted Late Night and Last Call to those shows' best numbers since 2005.

Other Thursday Winners: Compared to last week, Supernatural (3.1 million), 30 Rock (7 million), The Office (8 million), Private Practice (10 million), Bones (10.2 million) and Grey's Anatomy (14.4 million) were all up.

Why It Pays to Show Up: With CSI (and all the other CBS shows) bumped for basketball, Grey's ruled as the night's most-watched show and its highest rated among 18-49-year-olds.

Ugly Betty Watch: After struggling for so long, the show was up again (7.6 million) and, per ABC, scored its biggest audience in four weeks.

One week after the George Clooney fest, ER (9.5 million) was down, but still up more than 1 million viewers over its season average. Smallville (3.3 million) and Hell's Kitchen (7.6 million) were a bit off, but OK.

Jessica Simpson's days on the road are over

The singer, 28, played the last show on her "Bob Your Head Tour" (with Rascal Flatts) Saturday in Irvine, Calif.
"I'm just so excited to be here doing this," she told the audience at the the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. "It's a dream come true. I feel like I've been given a second chance."
Simpson made headlines while on the road for her buzzed-about new curves and her tendency to mess up songs.
At her final show, the singer continued to have a few on-stage mishaps.
She flubbed the opening lyrics to "Remember that," a song about being in an abusive relationship.
I said whiskey too early! I messed up!" she said before starting the song over. "I'm so embarrassed! But I'm starting over again because I really
want you guys to hear the lyrics the right way."
While singing "Still Don't Stop Me", she also mixed up the opening line, blushing and running her fingers through her hair.
"I messed up again! I do this all the time!" she said, laughing.
At times, Simpson got sentimental, covering the Robbie Williams ballad "Angels."
"I know that we all feel that we have angels around us, watching over us all the time," she said. "It's so important to remember that."
(Fans erupted in applause at the end of that song, prompting Simpson to joke, "I just felt like I was on American Idol!"
As she's done at most of her shows, she also thanked beau Tony Romo before belting out "You're My Sunday, which she dedicated to the "person
I'm in love with right now."
Simpson closed the show with "Come On Over," which she dedicated to Dolly Parton.

Today Lindsay Lohan Won't Appear In Court

Lindsay Lohan
As we reported this weekend, an arrest warrant was issued for Lindsay Lohan. The legally-challenged actress will not appear in court today, however, to respond to the warrant.
Instead, Lindsay's attorney will appear on her behalf. Attorney Shawn Chapman Holley said she believes the warrant was issued as the result of a misunderstanding and that it should be cleared in court.
The district atttorney's office said the warrant is related to Lohan's probation. Access Hollywood is reporting the warrant was issued in response to the star's recent trip to Las Vegas. Lindsay apparently drove herself to Vegas to follow GF, Samantha Ronson, to one of Ronson's DJ gigs. Per the terms of her probation, which the brawling self-tanner has been serving since her second DUI conviction in 2007, she is only supposed to drive for work.
Holley told the AP that Lohan is in compliance with her probation. If the court finds she violated the terms of her probation she could face jail time.
